Health benefits of ancient fruit MANGO


Mango is one of my favorite fruit and not only me, many of them are belongs to this group. If I tell you that you have a chance to eat little bit more than usual because of its huge health benefits.

Mango: The Golden fruit of medicinal values.

Mangitera Indica is the botanical name of mango.  There are more than 750 varieties of mangoes all around the World.  In that, 100 varieties are from Goa, one of the popular producer of Mangoes from India The historical evidence shows that Mango tree was more than 9000 years old. Tamilans always feel proud that Mangoes origin was TamilNadu and the names used for Mango has derived from the Tamil word “ Maankai”.  Portugal was the first country to supply mangoes outside India.  Mexico was the largest producer of the king fruit even though the Origin was from India.  

Kosalan King drank Mango juice to cure his stomach problems. Some religious holy books specifies that people use to protect the borders of their lands by planting the Mango trees.  In another holy script called Pavishethira poranam, states that if a person plants more than 5 trees in his life time, he will reach heaven for sure.  Mango is the fruit of love and that is the reason behind for symbolizing as national fruit for India, national tree for bangaladesh was Mango tree.  

Cultural beliefs:-

Many of them are aware of Mango story related to Lord Shiva family in Hindu religion.  Lord Shiva saved Markandian from flood by sending a Mango leaf on the flood.  The leaf grown into a huge Mango tree as soon as the Markandian touched the leaf and saved him from flood, by climbing on a huge tree.  Nannan was a king of small land.  He planted trees around his land for protection and he punished a woman for tasting the Mango that comes on the flowing river. In spite of many people asked to forgive the woman, he gives death as a punishment.   This the reason behind why Nannan was portrayed as a bad King in tamil poets.

In India, there are more than 12 common varieties that is consumed all around the Country.  Mangoes are used as a main ingredient  in the following recipes like ice creams, milk shakes, juices, pudding, lassy, pickles, Mango rice, pachidi, and gravy.  It is one of the essential ingredient in making salads to add tangy taste.  Dry Mango powder is also famous in North India.

SIDDHA HOME REMEDIES
People with blood pressure has an advantage of adding some more amount of mango slices in their diet to maintain normal level of blood pressure.

Remind yourself to drink milk after taking mango slices to reduce the complications  due to body heat.  If your allergic to lactose then drink lemon juice.

Consider drinking a mango juice as a good remedy for throat related problems like throat infection etc.

The research had proved that people who intake mangoes are prevented from large intestine cancer.

It increases blood cells that results in prevention of anemia and prevents cancer.

The fruit is filled with anti oxidants which naturally increases immunity in the body.

Mango reduces bad cholesterol.

The seed of the fruit is recommended as a medicine for kidney related diseases.


Take half table spoon of both honey and ghee with mango leaf juice or mango leaf extracts. Stir the mixture and drink it daily to get rid of blood piles.
